This project is in the early stages of research and development for a new performance piece for babies and their carers called The Cosmo: The Way of Gravity. As a performer and a mother of a wee one, I was mesmerised by the images of baby development in utero when I was expecting. I shared my ideas with choreographer and Somatic Movement practitioner Monica De Ioanni, with whom I had previously worked. She connected my ideas to the practice of movement artist and therapist Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, specifically her work on Neurocellular Patterns of Developmental Movements. This approach seemed a perfect match as it is rooted in a child-centred methodology and an understanding of developmental movement patterns.

While working on another project, two creatives with an exceptional professional experience, the theatre Director Niloo Far-Khan and set designer Karen Tennant shared our enthusiasm. Together, we conceived the idea of a performance incorporating elements of somatic movement within a multi-sensory installation set and live music.
